January 21, 2015 – Boston, MA – Baynes brings researcher, institutional and scientific publishing expertise to Overleaf.
Overleaf, (previously WriteLaTeX), the leading collaborative authoring and publishing tool for scientific research, has appointed Mary Anne Baynes as Head of Sales and Marketing, based in Raleigh, NC, USA.
Baynes has more than 20 years of experience in international sales, marketing and program development for various technology-based companies, both large and small – most recently in the STM, Institutional, and Association publishing industries through Cenveo Publisher Services, The Charlesworth Group and American Journal Experts. Baynes has also been instrumental in the global expansion of these services. Owing to her in-depth industry experience and knowledge, she was invited to become the co-chair of the Society for Scholarly Publishing Education Committee, to help guide the direction for SSP’s educational seminars and webinars.
Overleaf’s rapidly growing service is already being used in more than 1,000 universities and institutions globally and has compiled in excess of 1.5 billion pages, serving more than 150,000 authors from more than 180 countries worldwide.
“This is an exciting opportunity and I’m honored to join Overleaf and their forward-thinking team”, says Baynes. “Overleaf provides powerful technology and it’s an ambitious time of growth for the company with wide interest from universities and the publishing community. I look forward to working on their continued development and expansion into the scientific and scholarly publishing markets.”
