Last year IntechOpen launched an interdisciplinary Open Science journal portfolio to support the changing needs of academics. The launch included an ‘Introduction to Open Science’ webinar to demonstrate that Open Science is the natural next step for academics and publishers supporting Open Access. The webinar was a great success and marked an important milestone in the organisation’s Open Science journey.
This year, to continue supporting the Open community, IntechOpen is launching an ‘Engaging with Open Science 2023’ webinar series designed to help researchers and others discover more about Open Science. In each of the three sessions, industry-leading experts and academics will discuss the research landscape in the Open Science framework focusing on a specific Open Access practice: Preprints, Open Data, and Open Peer Review.
The first webinar in the series ‘Engaging with Open Science 2023: PREPRINTS’ takes place on Tuesday, 18 April, at 3 pm (CEST), 2 pm (UK) / 9 am (ET).
The webinar will discuss the rise of preprints and their impact on academics and journals. Industry expertise will be provided by Mark Hahnel from Figshare and Eric Olson from the Center for Open Science while Dr Thomas Heinbockel from Howard University will share his academic perspective. Dr Sarah Greaves, a prominent STEM Publishing Consultant, will moderate the session, introduce the topics, provide historical context, and host the Q&A session.
More information about Dr Greaves and the speakers can be found on the official webinar landing page.
