IntechOpen is delighted to announce the forthcoming webinar ‘Engaging with Open Science 2023: OPEN DATA’ on Tuesday, 13 June, at 2 pm UK time/3 pm CEST/9 am ET.
Dr Kamran Naim, Head of Open Science at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and Jennifer Gibson, Executive Director at Dryad will discuss the history, growth, and use of open data in academic publishing. The session will focus on what open data means for researchers and the impact of open data when publishing their work.
This webinar is aimed at researchers – especially those in the early stages of their career and who want to learn more about the impact of open data. Kamran and Jennifer are leading experts in open science, in particular the impact of open data for advancing research, and will share their insights and practical tips on maximising the dissemination of the data behind a research paper (and why it matters).
According to the latest Digital Science report on the status of open data, most researchers accept the idea of open sharing of data but welcome support and guidance to enable them to implement best practices. This webinar will give the research community – and other interested parties, actionable insights into openly sharing data based on the first-hand experience of industry specialists.
Once again, Dr Sarah Greaves will moderate the sessions from our knowledgeable and thoughtful industry professionals. IntechOpen’s Head of Journals and Open Science, Natalia Reinic Babic, will join to give an introduction to the webinar, and provide information about why and how IntechOpen Journals support open data and reproducible research.
More information about the webinar can be found on the official webinar landing page.
