De Gruyter has appointed Michael Zeoli as Director of its Publisher Partner Program.
Michael Zeoli has worked in the academic library book market for two decades, beginning in the acquisitions department at the Regenstein Library at the University of Chicago, through ebrary and YBP Library Services, where he worked with academic libraries around North America. Michael served as Vice President of Publisher Relations at GOBI Library Solutions, where he provided analysis and counsel to publishers in an often opaque and always complex market of scholarly books and academic libraries.
The Publisher Partner Program, which Michael now leads, is a unique solution to scholarly supply, delivering complete eBook collections to academic libraries while providing support to scholarly publishers. The Partner Program is continuing to evolve, adding new library and publisher partners, and developing new programs such as De Gruyter’s non-profit foundation eBound.
“Michael’s data-driven assessments and understanding of print and eBook models across the vendor and academic library ecosystem are unique and unmatched in our industry,” said Steve Fallon, VP Americas and Strategic Partnerships, De Gruyter. “In the true essence of partnership, Michael can use his experience to counsel our partner publishers on a path of predictability, sustainability and equitable access.”
“I am humbled to join the very bright and dedicated staff of the De Gruyter Publisher Partner team and excited to collaborate with the special community of libraries and publishers engaged in the University Press Library and the Publisher Partner Program,” said Michael Zeoli, Director, Publisher Partner Program, De Gruyter.
