International Trade Association, ALPSP, has announced that it is offering free membership to Ukrainian-based scholarly publishers to provide support during very difficult times across the country.
Wayne Sime, Chief Executive of ALPSP, added:
“It is clear from conversations with Ukrainians that while their publishing efforts are being disrupted, they are doing their utmost to keep going despite the hardships. One request that we hear frequently is the need to build more bridges with publishers in Europe and beyond.”
The ALPSP Board has agreed to offer free membership for one year to Ukrainian-based scholarly publishers. This will include the opportunity to access all member benefits, such as the excellent training and capacity-building resources from ALPSP.
Any Ukrainian-based scholarly publishers of scientific/academic journals and books can use ALPSP services by completing the membership application form.
Oleksandr Afonin, President of the Ukrainian Publishers Association commented:
“The offer that ALPSP has made for Ukrainian publishers proves its solidarity with us in our work and in our fight against Russian aggression. We are sincerely grateful to ALPSP for giving Ukrainian publishers free access to its resources because this will allow them to significantly increase the number of ways to reach the world market of scientific literature. Together we will win!”

These include access to the latest news, research and advice, member rates for the conference and training, free member webinars, networking, jobs board, mentorship scheme, plus the opportunity to be involved in ALPSP committees and other initiatives.
