Data Harmony Named to KMWorld Trend Setting Products 2024

Access Innovations, Inc., provider of Data Harmony software solutions, is proud to announce Data Harmony has been listed as a KMWorld Trend Setting Product in 2024. This marks the ninth time Data Harmony has been included.

While the list of Trend Setting Products didn’t ignore generative AI, it didn’t focus exclusively on it either. The organizers indicated that “products that enhance knowledge sharing and collaboration can be trend-setting regardless of the underlying technology”. Data Harmony is a product that includes an AI layer, first deployed in 1997, but also uses traditional and tested knowledge management principles.

“The shockwaves emanating from the introduction of generative AI have now largely subsided. Companies are working to find real world uses for this pioneering technology that will bring true value to customers in the KM space. Our 2024 look at trending products in knowledge management reveals that, along with exciting developments in GenAI, companies are utilizing related technologies, such as cloud computing, knowledge graphs, low- and no-code development, and platform innovation, in their approach to solving key KM problems,” said Marydee Ojala, KMWorld Editor-in-Chief. “The products and services on this list reflect the vision and execution that will continue to drive the market to new heights.”

“Most organizations don’t have enough content of their own to fully utilize generative predictive text models,” remarked Marjorie M. K. Hlava, Chief Science Officer at Access Innovations. “To capitalize on AI, they need semantically enriched content, that is, taxonomy terms added to use in “embedding” the RAG models for their focused GenAI. We have been doing that enrichment automatically for many years and to great success for our clients.”

“Well curated content, tagged with terms from a controlled vocabulary like a taxonomy, is foundational to a functional AI system. Using a Knowledge Domain comprised of a controlled vocabulary and associated rules base is a great way to jumpstart an AI initiative,” said Heather Kotula, President and CEO of Access Innovations. “We have over 70 Knowledge Domains in a wide range of verticals that can be licensed by organizations who aren’t sure where to start using AI to improve search and discovery. It makes the process fast, accurate, and much less painful.”
