Metadata Architect
Copyright Clearance Center
CCC is currently looking for a Metadata Architect. This key position is located within the Data Systems group, which is responsible for the maintenance and specification of systems to support CCC’s inventory of titles, rights, and associated usage fees. Data Systems represents business interests in projects and is currently involved in the design of a cutting edge system which will enable CCC to move from print-based textual works to digital text to multimedia and beyond. The group is involved in the design of all of CCC’s new products, sometimes as leaders; sometimes as major collaborators and experts of data. Data Systems personnel are responsible for the creation of specifications for data flows and structures in new CCC products, perform business analysis to innovate established processes, and are charged with staying current with industry standards. Being professionally active in both the library and publishing communities is highly valued.
CCC is entering year two of a three-year plan to revolutionize the way we do business and we’re looking for a dynamic individual to share their skills. Our ideal candidate for the Metadata Architect position will be someone who has extensive experience and success leading large projects, working on highly cross-functional teams, and maintaining massive bibliographic data sets. We’re also looking for a collaborative spirit with persuasive decision-making skills and a willingness to share knowledge and expertise with colleagues. A team player who can see the big picture of where we are today and can articulate a shared vision for where we’re headed. A passion for solving problems in new ways will also be a key factor in your success.
