Oxford Journals has an opportunity for an Executive Editor to manage an existing list of science and medical journals to ensure efficient publication, maximum profitability and the retention of profitable titles. In collaboration with worldwide divisional staff, this individual is also responsible for formulating and implementing a strategy for acquiring profitable journals. The Executive Editor will build content, market and discipline expertise, as well as prepare financial forecasts and proposal documents that are suitable to acquire new business for the division.

Qualifications

  • Position requires knowledge of and at least 4 years experience in journal publishing processes and procedures.
  • Proven track record in working with professional societies.
  • Knowledge of electronic publishing, marketing processes, and techniques.
  • Excellent communication, strategic planning, and negotiating skills are also required.
